Happiness Short Lived

Sunday at Extreme Rules Christian pulled off an amazing win in his ladder match against Alberto Del Rio. It was Christian's dream come true, a dream he had been dreaming for 17 long years. He finally became World Heavyweight Champion. On Smackdown tonight Christian addressed the WWE Universe and told them how much becoming World Heavyweight Champion meant to him. With a quiver in his voice he shared the words Edge had texted him moments before the show started. Edge had told him, to enjoy the win, that he deserved it. Mark Henry came to the ring and stated he wanted a shot at the title, soon Henry was joined by The Great Khali who wanted a chance at Christian's belt. Soon the men were cut off as Randy Orton entered the ring and said he would like his name put in the hat. Teddy Long came out and decided that the crowd would be deciding who would face Christian for the title. The crowd erupted choosing Randy Orton. Teddy surprised everyone by saying the match would be held tonight on Smackdown. The match up between Randy and Christian was a back and forth fight. They both were giving it their all, and had a counter for almost every move the other brought. There many near pin falls. Christian took a massive risk of going to the top rope, as he came through the air..Randy got him with an RKO and that was the end of Christian's title streak. Five short days after his dream came true, it was shattered.

Please tell me your thoughts on what went down on Smackdown tonight!

Extreme Rules 2011

I have never really liked Michelle McCool or Layla, but over the last few weeks I have started feeling sorry for Layla. I was happy to see Layla get the win over Michelle McCool. The stipulation was that the winner would leave the WWE...so I guess we will be saying goodbye to Ms. McCool.

Randy Orton and CM Punk beat the hell out of each other in their last man standing match. When the dust settled and the blood began to dry...Randy Orton was the last man standing. I was so proud of him. There was a time where I despised Orton and love Punk..the tables have turned and I think Orton has made a massive impact as he joins the Smackdown roster.

Michael Cole & Jack Swagger won their match against. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler. It was nice to see J.R. and King get some good hits in on Jack and Cole during their Country Whipping match. It would have been nice to see J.R. and King win....but face it when Cole and Swagger are together...cheating to win..will always be the case.

Christian and Alberto Del Rio squared off in a ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match was intense and they both really showed their heart and their athletic ability. It was a bitter sweet moment, that Edge arrived for....Christian climbed the ladder to become World Heavyweight Champion!

Sheamus and Kofi Kingston were in a tables match for the United States Championship. They pulled out all of the stops and you could really tell both of them wanted the win. Kofi used his high flying skills to get himself out of several situations that would have ended the match. Boom, Boom, Boom! Kofi Kingston took to the top rope...used his high flying ability to soar through the air..crashing Sheamus into a table that was waiting on the floor. Kofi is the United States Champion and I could not be happier!

Cody Rhodes & Rey Mysterio were in a falls count anywhere match. They were all over the area and became very physical. They were definitely giving the fans their money's worth. As their fight spilled out in the lobby area fans looked on..all the while chanting " This is Awesome!" I am proud to say that Rey got the win! I am so tired of hearing Cody whine and sulk. I really hope that an end comes to his cry baby act soon.

Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson challenged Big Show & Kane for the WWE Tag Team Championships. This was a lumber jack match, and the lumber jacks really were not needed since the men were all interested in beating on each other. Big Show & Kane ended up with the win. After the match the lumber jacks got into a scuffle of their own.

John Cena, John Morrison & The Miz were locked in a steel cage for a triple threat match for the WWE Championship. The men all displayed amazing athletic ability and definitely determination and drive to win. John Morrison used his high flying skills many times to keep the match going, and to take his opponents down. John Morrison leaves me speechless as he flies around the ring. I really enjoy his give all style. Morrison was taken out of the equation when R-Truth found a way into the cage and viciously attacked Morrison. I am really worried about R-Truth and the turn he is taking...I hope that the lovable R-Truth comes back. John Cena gave a massive attitude adjustment from the top rope and pinned The Miz to capture the 1-2-3 and to become a 10 time WWE Champion. The Champ is here! I am so excited for John Cena..as he held the belt high in the ear..he mouthed the word "finally".

It was definitely a night to remember for so many reasons.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what happened at Extreme Rules!

April 2011 WWE Draft

So last night on Monday Night Raw the 2011 drafts took place. The night started out crazy with John Cena getting drafted to Friday Night Smackdown. Rey Mysterio Jr. was drafted to Monday Night Raw, which means his high flying moves will be airing on Monday. Smackdown gained an awesome star in Randy Orton. With Rey moving to Monday nights, a high flyer was needed on Smackdown and that need was fulfilled when Sin Cara was drafted to join the Smackdown roster. Big Show and the ever so obnoxious Alberto Del Rio were drafted to Raw. I could have done without Alberto on Raw, hell I could do without him on t.v. at all. Team Raw won the final draft pick of the evening, winning John Cena back. I must say it was an exciting night & I am glad that John Cena will remain on Raw. So what did you all think about the 2011 draft?

Relinquishing the Title

So last night on Friday Night Smackdown...Edge relinquished his championship belt. It was a tear jerking evening for sure. I know there are people out there laughing about how silly it is to be sad that a wrestler is leaving the business, but those people do not understand the respect that the WWE universe has for all of the men and women who devote their lives to entertaining us. While I did not always like Edge...I always respected him for the amazing things he had done in his career. He has had one hell of a ride with the WWE and I wish him the best of luck. I thought it was a very good display of showmanship to see Kane shake Edge's hand. I would love to hear comments from all of you on the topic of Edge's retirement.

Edge Retires

So tonight April 11, 2011 Edge announced that past injuries are forcing him to retire. He will be surrendering his belt this Friday on Smackdown. I have hated Edge's character several times over the years, but I have to say no matter what character he was playing...he has always been one hell of a wrestler. Adam, I wish you the best in everything you do. I thank you for the years you gave us as Edge and I have to admit I shed tears listening to you tonight. I hope we will see you often...even if it's not in the ring.

Wrestlemania 27

So Wrestlemania 27 was Sunday April 3, 2011 in Atlanta. What did you all think? What were your favorite moments? What pissed you off? I was pissed off with how John Cena's match ended, but I expected The Rock to get involved, so I wasn't too surprised. I know I have been neglecting this blog lately and I promise to do better. Please feel free to leave me comments and share your thoughts.

Batista Unleashed

So I recently read Batista Unleashed. It was really interesting to hear what life has been like for Dave Batista. I enjoyed his honesty about his life in and outside of the ring. I have a new appreciation for what a professional wrestler goes through. I realize my last post here a few months back was about Batista leaving the WWE. I am sad that he is no longer a part of a company he worked so hard to get into, but I wish him the best in all aspects of his life.

What do you all think about the anonymous general manager for Monday Night Raw? I personally am getting sick of hearing Cole read the emails from the GM. Do any of you have guesses on who the GM really is? I would love to hear your thoughts on how the show has been going. What do you all think of John Cena being a member of Nexus? I personally think that he will not be a part of Nexus long, I have a feeling that Wade Barret won't be beating Randy Orton either. I think Cena has a way around being fired. I will be beyond crushed if Cena is no longer a part of the WWE. So c'mon ya'll throw your thoughts, theories and opinions at me.
